4. Separate Publishing Agreements

Publishing clients may be required to sign a separate publishing or service agreement.

Where a separate written agreement has been executed, the terms of that agreement shall apply to the specific project.

If there is any inconsistency between these general Terms and a signed agreement, the signed agreement will prevail for the relevant project, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

5. Manuscript Submissions

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

We may accept or decline a manuscript based on:

  • Content quality;
  • Genre or subject matter;
  • Production feasibility;
  • Legal or reputational risk;
  • Commercial suitability;
  • Completeness of the manuscript;
  • Availability of resources;
  • Internal publishing requirements.

The person submitting a manuscript confirms that they are the author, copyright owner, authorised representative, or lawful guardian of the author and have the legal authority to submit the work.

6. Author Representations and Responsibilities

By submitting content to us, the author or customer confirms that:

  1. The content is original or lawfully authorised;
  2. The content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, moral, contractual, or other third-party rights;
  3. All quotations, illustrations, photographs, lyrics, tables, charts, research material, translations, and third-party content have been properly credited and used with necessary permission;
  4. The content is not defamatory, fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, obscene, hateful, or deliberately misleading;
  5. The author has disclosed any previously published or licensed portion of the manuscript;
  6. The information, claims, references, and citations contained in the manuscript are accurate to the best of the author’s knowledge;
  7. The work does not contain confidential information belonging to another person without permission.

The author remains responsible for the originality, legality, accuracy, and authenticity of the manuscript and all materials supplied to us.

We may request declarations, permissions, identity documents, source files, or other supporting information where reasonably necessary.

7. Copyright and Ownership

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the author retains copyright in the author’s original manuscript.

Submitting a manuscript grants us a limited permission to access, store, review, copy, and internally share the manuscript for evaluation, quotation, project planning, editing, design, production, and communication purposes.

After a publishing agreement is accepted, the author grants us the rights reasonably necessary to edit, format, design, print, reproduce, list, distribute, display, promote, market, and sell the book according to the applicable agreement.

The publishing agreement may contain additional provisions relating to territory, formats, duration, distribution, royalties, termination, and use of promotional material.

8. Designs and Creative Materials

Book covers, interior layouts, promotional graphics, reels, videos, templates, advertising material, website designs, certificates, magazine pages, and other creative materials produced by us may contain intellectual property owned or licensed by Ananta Press International.

Ownership and permitted use of final creative materials will be governed by the package, invoice, written communication, or signed agreement.

Unpaid, rejected, watermarked, preliminary, sample, or unapproved designs may not be copied, published, altered, distributed, or used without written permission.

Editable or source files are not included unless specifically stated in writing.

9. Website Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the design, layout, logo, text, graphics, videos, service descriptions, promotional content, downloadable material, and other original content appearing on this website belong to or are licensed to Ananta Press International.

You may not reproduce, republish, sell, scrape, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit our website content without written permission.

Copyright in books displayed or sold on the website may belong to the relevant author or copyright owner. Display or sale of a book through our website does not by itself transfer the author’s copyright to Ananta Press International.

10. Scope of Publishing Packages

Only the services expressly mentioned in the selected package, quotation, invoice, proposal, or signed agreement are included.

Services not specifically mentioned will be treated as additional services and may require additional payment.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Extra pages or increased word count;
  • Extensive editing or rewriting;
  • Additional cover concepts;
  • Repeated redesigning;
  • Additional corrections after approval;
  • Illustrations or image licensing;
  • Indexing or specialist formatting;
  • Translation;
  • Copyright-registration fees;
  • Extra printed copies;
  • Hardback or special editions;
  • International shipping;
  • Paid advertising;
  • Additional distribution platforms;
  • Additional promotional services;
  • Urgent or priority work.

11. Payments and Taxes

Customers must make payments according to the schedule stated in the invoice, proposal, package, or agreement.

All applicable taxes, including Goods and Services Tax, may be charged as required by law.

Work may be paused or withheld where payment is overdue.

A payment made for one project, package, book, author, event, or service cannot be transferred to another project or person without our written approval.

Payment-gateway fees, currency-conversion fees, international transaction fees, and bank charges may be payable by the customer.

12. Commencement of Work

A project may be treated as commenced when any of the following occurs:

  • A project manager is assigned;
  • The manuscript is reviewed;
  • Editing or formatting begins;
  • A cover or interior design is started;
  • ISBN, barcode, copyright, hosting, domain, advertising, printing, or another third-party service is ordered;
  • Promotional content is prepared;
  • A media, podcast, magazine, newspaper, or event slot is booked;
  • Files are sent to a printer, distributor, marketplace, or service partner.

13. Project Timelines

All timelines are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

Project timelines depend on:

  • Receipt of the complete manuscript;
  • Timely payment;
  • Author responses;
  • Timely approval of files;
  • Number of corrections;
  • Availability of documents and permissions;
  • Printer and courier operations;
  • Marketplace review and approval;
  • Third-party service providers;
  • Technical issues;
  • Public holidays;
  • Events beyond our reasonable control.

A delay caused by incomplete content, late responses, repeated changes, payment delay, or delayed approval by the author will extend the project timeline.

14. Author Communication and Approvals

The author must review all files carefully before granting final approval.

Final files, including manuscript interiors, cover files, book description, author name, subtitle, price, MRP, ISBN information, and other publication details, should be approved in writing.

Email shall be treated as the primary official channel for final-file and production approval. Approval through another recorded communication channel may also be accepted at our discretion.

Once final approval has been given and the book has entered printing, listing, distribution, or production, further changes may:

  • Require additional charges;
  • Cause delays;
  • Require a new edition or ISBN;
  • Be impossible on copies already printed, sold, distributed, or downloaded.

Ananta Press International will not be responsible for errors that were present in author-supplied content or that remained after the author approved the final files.

15. Corrections and Revisions

Packages may include a limited number of corrections or revision rounds.

Corrections should be submitted clearly and, wherever possible, in one consolidated document or email.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Rewriting after editing is complete;
  • Replacing large sections of approved content;
  • Changing the title, subtitle, author name, trim size, or design after approval;
  • Repeated cover redesign;
  • Adding new chapters after formatting;
  • Correcting errors after printing or platform upload.

16. Printing and Production Variations

Minor variations may occur between digital proofs and final printed products due to:

  • Screen settings;
  • Printing processes;
  • Paper stock;
  • Ink absorption;
  • Lamination;
  • Binding;
  • Cutting and trimming;
  • Print-on-demand equipment;
  • Different production batches.

Reasonable variations in colour, alignment, paper shade, trimming, or binding that do not materially affect the usability of the book will not be treated as defects.

17. Distribution and Marketplace Listings

We may assist with listing books on marketplaces, distributors, e-book platforms, or retail websites.

Third-party platforms retain control over their own:

  • Review procedures;
  • Listing timelines;
  • Product categories;
  • Availability;
  • Pricing display;
  • Delivery eligibility;
  • Search ranking;
  • Account policies;
  • Content restrictions;
  • Suspension or removal decisions.

We do not guarantee permanent listing, uninterrupted availability, Amazon Prime status, sales ranking, bestseller status, search placement, reviews, bookstore acceptance, or a specific number of sales.

18. Marketing and Promotional Services

Marketing services are intended to improve visibility and awareness. They do not guarantee:

  • Sales;
  • Reviews;
  • Followers;
  • Media response;
  • Bestseller ranking;
  • Search-engine ranking;
  • Event attendance;
  • Public recognition;
  • Commercial success.

Media, newspaper, magazine, PR, podcast, and platform services may be delivered through third-party partners. Publication dates and placements may be affected by editorial policies, availability, technical issues, or third-party decisions.

Where a specific publication or platform becomes unavailable, we may offer a reasonably similar alternative of comparable value.

19. Awards and Nomination Programmes

Rules, dates, categories, judging criteria, eligibility, deliverables, and announcements for awards or literary programmes may be published separately.

Where a nomination is described as free, no fee shall be charged merely for submitting the nomination.

Optional paid award boxes, promotional packages, certificates, medals, trophies, magazine features, interviews, podcasts, or publicity services are separate from the merit-based evaluation process unless expressly stated otherwise.

Purchasing a promotional package does not guarantee selection as a winner and should not influence an independent jury decision.

Award or nomination material submitted by the participant may be used for evaluation, programme administration, announcements, and agreed promotional activities.

20. Royalties

Royalty arrangements will be governed by the applicable publishing agreement.

Royalties may be calculated on the amount actually received from distributors, marketplaces, retailers, or other sales channels after applicable discounts, taxes, platform commissions, printing costs, returns, withholding, or other agreed deductions.

Marketplace sales data may take time to be reported and remitted.

Dashboard information may be provisional and may later be adjusted based on final platform statements, returns, cancellations, or reconciliation.

Royalty payments may be subject to:

  • Minimum payout thresholds;
  • Identity verification;
  • Bank-detail verification;
  • Tax requirements;
  • Platform reporting cycles;
  • The payment schedule stated in the agreement.

Authors are responsible for providing accurate bank and tax information.

21. Physical Product Orders

Product descriptions, prices, availability, and delivery estimates may change without notice.

We reserve the right to:

  • Limit quantities;
  • Cancel suspected fraudulent orders;
  • Correct pricing or listing errors;
  • Refuse delivery to unsupported locations;
  • Cancel an order where stock or production is unavailable.

Ownership and risk in physical goods pass according to applicable law and the delivery arrangement.

22. Digital Products

E-books, digital magazines, templates, recordings, downloadable files, and other digital products are licensed for the purchaser’s personal use unless otherwise stated.

Digital products may not be copied, resold, uploaded, distributed, or shared commercially without permission.

Access may be suspended where there is evidence of unauthorised distribution, fraud, or misuse.

23. Prohibited Use

You must not use the website or our services to:

  • Commit fraud;
  • Infringe intellectual-property rights;
  • Upload malicious software;
  • Interfere with website security;
  • Scrape or extract website data without permission;
  • Impersonate another person;
  • Submit unlawful or harmful content;
  • Make false representations;
  • Harass employees, authors, customers, or partners;
  • Attempt unauthorised access to accounts, files, or dashboards.

24. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate a service where:

  • Payment remains overdue;
  • The customer provides false information;
  • The manuscript creates a material legal risk;
  • The customer infringes third-party rights;
  • The customer engages in abusive or threatening conduct;
  • Continuing the service would violate law or platform rules;
  • The customer materially breaches the agreement.

Any refund following termination will be determined according to the Refund Policy, work already completed, and third-party costs already incurred.

25. Third-Party Links and Services

The website may contain links to Amazon, Flipkart, payment gateways, social-media websites, media publications, couriers, distributors, and other third-party services.

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy policies, terms, security, availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party websites.

Use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.

  • Loss of expected sales or profits;
  • Marketplace delays;

  • Author-supplied errors;
  • Failure to obtain permissions;
  • Loss caused by inaccurate information supplied by the customer;
  • Events beyond our reasonable control.

Our total liability concerning a particular paid product or service shall not exceed the amount actually paid to us for the affected product or service, except where the law does not permit such a limitation.

  • Copyright infringement;

30. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.

Subject to applicable consumer-protection and other mandatory legal rights, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.

The parties should first attempt to resolve a dispute through written communication and good-faith discussion.

31. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services, business operations, technology, or legal obligations.
