Effective Date: 8 August 2026
Last Updated: 8 August 2026

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to products and services purchased directly from anantapressinternational.com or directly from Ananta Press International.

Purchases made through Amazon, Flipkart, another marketplace, retailer, distributor, payment partner, event organiser, or third-party website are subject to that platform’s applicable refund and cancellation rules.

1. General Principle

Ananta Press International provides customised publishing, designing, editing, printing, marketing, promotional, and author services.

Because many services are personalised and work may begin shortly after payment, refund eligibility depends on:

  • When the cancellation request is received;
  • Whether work has commenced;
  • Work already completed;
  • Third-party expenses already incurred;
  • Whether a product has already been printed, published, delivered, downloaded, listed, or distributed.

2. Requesting Cancellation

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to:

Email:
anantapressinternational@gmail.com
publish@anantapressinternational.com

The request should include:

  • Customer or author name;
  • Order or invoice number;
  • Book or project title;
  • Date and amount of payment;
  • Payment reference;
  • Reason for cancellation;
  • Bank or payment information where required.

A telephone or WhatsApp request alone may not be treated as a completed cancellation request unless subsequently confirmed in writing.

3. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

Where the same payment has been charged more than once, the verified duplicate amount will be refunded.

Where an incorrect amount has been charged because of a technical or billing error attributable to us, the excess amount will be refunded after verification.

4. Publishing and Customised Service Refunds

A. Cancellation Before Work Begins

A customer may request cancellation within 48 hours of payment, provided no work has commenced and no third-party cost has been incurred.

Where approved, the refundable amount may be reduced by:

  • Payment-gateway charges;
  • Bank charges;
  • Administrative or consultation work already completed;
  • Non-recoverable taxes or statutory costs;
  • Any expense incurred specifically for the project.

B. Cancellation After Work Has Begun

Where work has commenced, the customer may be eligible only for a proportionate refund of the unperformed portion of the service.

We may deduct the value of:

  • Consultation and project onboarding;
  • Manuscript review;
  • Editing or proofreading;
  • Formatting;
  • Cover or interior design;
  • Project-management work;
  • ISBN or barcode processing;
  • Government or copyright fees;
  • Domain or hosting costs;
  • Printing;
  • Courier charges;
  • Promotional content;
  • Third-party bookings;
  • Payment and platform charges;
  • Any other work already completed or committed.

C. No Refund After Completion of a Component

No refund will normally be provided for a service component that has already been substantially completed, delivered, approved, published, booked, printed, uploaded, or distributed.

This includes:

  • Completed editing;
  • Completed formatting;
  • Completed cover or interior design;
  • Approved final files;
  • ISBN or barcode obtained;
  • Copyright or government application submitted;
  • Printed author copies;
  • Book uploaded to a marketplace;
  • E-book delivered;
  • Website or domain activated;
  • Advertisement or campaign launched;
  • Article, interview, reel, podcast, magazine feature, PR, or newspaper placement produced or booked;
  • Certificate, medal, trophy, or award box produced or dispatched.

5. Booking and Onboarding Amounts

A booking, registration, onboarding, manuscript-evaluation, or consultation amount may become non-refundable once:

  • Consultation has been provided;
  • The manuscript has been reviewed;
  • A project manager has been assigned;
  • Internal work has commenced;
  • A slot or resource has been reserved specifically for the project.

Where such an amount is expressly described as refundable in writing, that written term will apply.

6. Author Delay or Inactivity

A refund will not normally be granted merely because the author:

  • Delays submitting the manuscript;
  • Stops responding;
  • Fails to provide corrections;
  • Does not approve files;
  • Changes their mind after work begins;
  • Is unable to complete the manuscript;
  • Fails to provide required documents;
  • Becomes unavailable during the project.

Where a project remains inactive for an extended period, we may place it on hold. Restarting an inactive project may require a reactivation or revised-service charge.

7. Dissatisfaction With Creative Work

Creative services involve professional and subjective judgement.

Dissatisfaction with a design, layout, editing style, promotional concept, or creative direction does not automatically entitle the customer to a full refund where the service was performed according to the agreed scope.

We will first attempt reasonable corrections within the revision limit of the package.

Repeated redesigning, a completely new creative direction, or changes beyond the agreed scope may require an additional fee.

8. Printing and Author Copies

Printing charges are non-refundable once files have been approved and printing has commenced.

If copies are misprinted, damaged, defective, or materially different from the approved files due to our production error, the matter will be handled under the Return and Replacement Policy.

Minor variations in colour, paper shade, trimming, lamination, or binding do not automatically qualify for a refund.

9. Promotional and Marketing Services

Promotional and marketing services are customised and often involve third-party bookings.

No refund will normally be available after:

  • Content creation has started;
  • A promotional design has been prepared;
  • A media slot has been reserved;
  • A publication has accepted or scheduled the content;
  • A reel, video, podcast, article, PR release, interview, or campaign has been created or published;
  • Payment has been committed to a third-party media or advertising provider.

Marketing results, sales, reach, followers, reviews, rankings, and publicity outcomes are not guaranteed. Lack of a particular commercial result is not, by itself, a ground for refund.

10. Awards, Nominations and Events

Where nomination is expressly offered free of cost, no nomination fee is payable.

Fees paid for optional promotional packages, award boxes, medals, trophies, certificates, magazine features, interviews, travel, event participation, accommodation, publicity, or shipping are governed by the deliverables purchased.

If an event is postponed, we may:

  • Reschedule the service;
  • Offer credit for another event or service;
  • Deliver an equivalent online or alternative benefit;
  • Provide an appropriate refund where the paid service cannot reasonably be supplied.

Non-selection as an award winner does not create a right to refund for a separately purchased promotional service that has already been delivered.

11. Digital Products

Digital products, including e-books, digital magazines, downloadable files, templates, recordings, and digital certificates, are generally non-refundable after:

  • Delivery;
  • Download;
  • Access;
  • Email transmission;
  • Account activation.

A refund or replacement may be considered where the file is defective, corrupted, inaccessible, or materially different from the purchased product and we are unable to correct the issue.

12. Physical Product Refunds

Refunds for physical books or products will be considered only after the return has been approved under the Return and Replacement Policy.

Where a replacement is reasonably available, we may offer replacement before refund.

13. Services Cancelled by Ananta Press International

Where we cancel a service for reasons not caused by the customer, we may provide:

  • A refund for the unperformed portion;
  • Service credit;
  • A comparable alternative service;
  • A revised delivery arrangement.

Amounts relating to completed work or non-recoverable third-party expenses may still be deducted.

Where we terminate because of unlawful content, copyright infringement, abusive conduct, false information, non-payment, or material breach by the customer, refund eligibility will be assessed after deducting completed work and costs incurred.

14. Refund Review

Refund requests will be reviewed based on:

  • Invoice and payment records;
  • Applicable agreement;
  • Work completed;
  • Files delivered;
  • Third-party expenses;
  • Communication history;
  • Reason for cancellation;
  • Applicable law.

Submitting a request does not automatically mean that a refund has been approved.

15. Refund Processing Time

After a refund is approved, we will generally initiate it within 7 to 10 business days.

The amount will normally be returned to the original payment method.

The customer’s bank, card issuer, UPI provider, or payment gateway may require additional time to reflect the refund.

16. Taxes and Credit Notes

Tax adjustments, invoice cancellation, and credit notes will be handled according to applicable tax laws.

Taxes will not be withheld merely by describing them as non-refundable. Any refund involving tax will be processed according to the applicable invoicing and credit-note requirements.

17. Payment-Gateway and Bank Charges

Payment-gateway charges, bank charges, international transaction charges, currency-conversion charges, or other charges retained by a third party may be deducted where they are not recoverable by us.

18. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Customers should contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.

Fraudulent, misleading, or unjustified chargebacks may result in:

  • Suspension of services;
  • Withholding of unpublished files;
  • Termination of the agreement;
  • Recovery of completed-work costs;
  • Legal action where appropriate.

This provision does not restrict a customer’s lawful right to dispute an unauthorised or incorrect transaction.
